Hi Ashley, came across your blog while looking for the campgrounds at Horsetooth...I lived in Ft. Collins in the mid 90's while working for the Forest Service..building trails in the Rawah Wilderness. I'm coming out to visit old friends and to hit the trails around Ft. Collins..I plan on running the 8 mile trail race at Horsetooth on Sunday the 8th. I'm a huge fan of Ed Abbey..here's one of my favorite little pieces he wrote about a race his daughter Suzie was running on a trail in New mexico.."...He runs steadily, uphill, breathing audibly, but not: it seemsto me, with any trouble..watching him go, on nd on at that apparently easy unflagging pace, I feel an emotion which I haven't felt in a long time: a certain awe in the presence of ability and determination far beyond my own, a surge of admiration for the physical beauty of a good athlete in action.." that's from 'Down the River' a wonderful book. Anyway, I'll be out there from June 6th to the 9th and thoughtn it might be kind of cool to maybe meet you and maybe hook up for a trail run. If you should see this..my cell numbrer is 412-513-5236..name is dominic, but most friends call me Wyz. Do you happen to know Kent Oglesby or Jon sinclair ..they are 2 of the guys i use to run with when I lived there (now living in my original hometown of Pittsburgh, Pa) but my soul is still in Colorado! Enjoyed your blog..best wishes..Dom Wyz

Colorado is a beautiful place to run and live. I am envious that you have hills and cold weather. I wish you much success in your new endeavor and your future running.
